Architectural & Structural Historic Wood Renovation Services

Our historic millwork renovation services include recreating & installing architectural and structural elements made from wood. While this can include a wide range of elements, the most popular includes windows, doors, shutters, fireplace mantels, ceilings, railings and much more. The state-of-art technology and computer software we use at our millwork shop allows us to match and recreate almost any architectural component or small details. Further, we can craft your custom historic millwork piece from a variety of wood species. The most common are pine, fir & oak, but we can work with hardwoods like cedar, red oak, birch, walnut and more. Please note: the amount of detail and the type of wood can affect price and lead time.

Custom Molding & Millwork

Another important aspect of our historical renovation services is the recreation of moldings and pattern molds. In almost all instances we see during a historic millwork recreation job is a molding style from the early 1900s (or any time period) that is not manufactured anymore. GW Millwork can take this pattern and match any molding profile to the exact standards of historical accuracy! Using custom built machinery, the latest in computer software and a vast archive of knives, our specialists can recreate these original designs using salvaged pieces in your building. Moldings can be replicated from wood, MDF (plywood) or PVC.

GW Millwork is proudly rooted in tradition and old-world craftsmanship, dedicated to providing the highest standards in skills, precision and engineering for all historic renovation projects. Contact us by phone or email for more information about our historic millwork & woodwork recreation capabilities. If you’d like us to bid on your project, send us your bid invitation via email.
